Key data of the history of our camera
-
The history of this camera began over a century ago with Balduin Haag = an ancestor of Michael Zürner, in the 6th generation on the mother's side.
-
Balduin Haag worked from 1855 in the porcelain factory C.M. Hutschenreuther in Hohenberg / Eger as a modeler for so-called lithopanias ("light pictures ") made of porcelain.
-
After some time he is described as the first photographer in the Hohenberg / Eger area, who "used to transport his photographic utensils on two carts harnessed with goats because of their heaviness at that time."
-
In 1868, Haag laid the foundation stone for his house and ran a small photo studio there -in addition to his work for Hutschenreuther- until his death in 1907
-
Towards the end of his work and life, between 1895 and 1902, he acquired this camera and the fitting lens.
-
To this day, the camera remains in family ownership and was brought back to life six generations later.
